Dan grading success in Bath!

On Saturday October 5th, instructor and club founder Sensei Jeff Barwick (5th Dan) and club member Robin Moore (2nd Dan) headed down to Bath for the KUGB 2019 Special Dan Grade Course & Senior Dan Grading under the expert tutelage and scrutiny of Sensei Andy Sherry (9th Dan), Sensei Bob Poynton (8th Dan) and Sensei Frank Brennan (8th Dan).

Sensei Barwick was attempting to add a successful 6th Dan grading to his impressive karate resume that spans over 50 years as a proud member of the KUGB whilst Robin was seeking to add to his growing list of impressive achievements by successfully grading to 3rd Dan. Both guys worked extremely hard and trained diligently for a long time for this day and the pressure was upon them!

We are delighted to announce that Sensei Barwick was successful in grading to 6th Dan whilst Robin passed the vast majority of his grading with flying colours but fell slightly short on the kata aspect and will be returning on the next course to retake this part of the grading.

We're extremely proud of both guys who continue to be an inspiration to others in the club, particularly our younger and less experienced members who continue to strive to emulate such fantastic achievements.

We would like to extend our congratulations to both who have displayed extreme determination and diligence in their training in the run up to this course.

Well done both!
